Alright, I think I want to be a Scout, but what do they do?
Our Scout Group is open to for young people aged 10-14, and provides the opportunity for them to take part in adventurous activities that they otherwise might not be able to.
We usually meet at the Scout Hut weekly on Thursday, and as a Scout, there is a LOT to be excited about.
(If you’re unsure if this group is for you or your child, maybe share this page with them. If their eyes light up or they jump for joy, you’re on the right page!)
Activities that you can do as a Scout are endless, although, activities that you can’t do include Banana Boating, Hitchhiking, and a few others.
Common activities at our group include woodwork, hikes, expedition challenges, boating, and you get the opportunity to complete your Duke of Edinburgh award. (And this doesn’t even begin to cover the amazing games.)
Our meetings normally last an hour and 30 mins, however we do sometimes deviate from these times.
Our Scout group is full of amazing people dying to meet you – you’ll make friends that will stick with you.
We have a group of amazing leaders, who we won’t name (we’re worried that another group might steal them!)
… a quick debrief.
The group meets weekly on Thursday.
Forever friends, endless opportunities for fun, memories that will stick with you, and skills for life. That’s Scouts. And that’s why you should join.
So, if you’re a young person reading this, ask your nearest adult family member, and join us – we can’t wait to meet you.
And if you’re a parent, we can’t wait to meet you either. (We’re sure your child will love Scouts, as much as they might disagree!)
Scouts is a no-brainer. (Especially if you’ve already been a Cub, Brownie, Beaver or Rainbow.)
